NETWORK ENGINEER CONSULTANT
One of our technology clients is seeking a Network Engineer consultant for 2-4 months.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust secure network solutions including firewalls, VPNs (covering site-to-site, remote access, and cloud-based connections), and ACLs.
- Monitor and manage LANs and WANs, including configuration and management of network devices.
- Collaborate with other IT teams for seamless network integration and support.
- Create, update, and maintain documentation of environment, network configuration, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with IT Security team to implement Network Access Control (NAC), access control lists (ACLs), firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems, and developing network security policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support to internal users and external stakeholders.
- Provide project management for various network activities, including upgrades, implementations, and migrations.
- Manage and optimize cloud network environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), including configuration, security, and resource optimization.
- Collaborate with external clients throughout the network lifecycle, delivering reliable and secure solutions that address their specific needs, from initial assessment to successful change implementation.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certifications/training/experience in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in network engineering.
- Expert experience with firewall technologies
- Familiarity with network security best practices and frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and management tools.
- Proven experience and success with LAN, WLAN, Firewalls and VPN design and implementation.
- Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- ITIL® Foundation certification (Preferred).
- Professional certification (ex: CCNA, CCSA, JNCIS-ENT, CompTIA Network+, GSEC) (Preferred).
- Experience managing cloud network environments (Azure, GCP, AWS preferred), and familiarity with cloud automation tools (Preferred).
