Job Summary: The Network Engineer contractor position is responsible for the delivery of infrastructure solutions and services through standard offerings and processes that drive consistent adoption and speed to market Individual will work under general direction of the Network Services IS Supervisor within a team of Network engineers responsible for providing a diverse array of deliverables to optimize network capabilities and services. The ability to communicate clearly, deliver a high level of customer service, and think with the future in mind are key attributes for this role. Essential Functions: • Working knowledge of ITSM platform, ability to self-manage ticket queue and provide solutions to diverse networking issues. • Proactively monitor and manage network solutions to find areas of improvement in configuration or deployment methodology. • Troubleshoots and demonstrates problem solving skills in identification of the root causes of business performance and execution issues by using process and data analysis. • Escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner to team lead for support, approval and/or resolution. • Availability to work extended, off-hours, based upon project requirements and Major Incident remediation situations. • Occasional travel may be required to support project implementations (less than 10%). Supervisory or Management Responsibility: None Budget Responsibility: No budget responsibility. Minimum Education and/or Experience: • B.S. in Computer Science or related major or equivalent technical experience. • 4-7 years of experience in network technologies. Skills/Abilities: Interpersonal Skills • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills. • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills to effectively communicate with leaders, peers, and end users. • The ability to manage workload efficiently with moderate direction, and with less support as experience is gained. Focused Technical Skills for this position. • Palo Alto firewall experience; including rule implementation, Panorama management, GlobalProtect client VPN, URL/IP filtering. • Meraki switch and wireless access point implementation, support, and troubleshooting. • Wide-area network implementation and troubleshooting expertise. SD-WAN, specifically Prisma SD-WAN experience would be beneficial. General Technical Skills Required • Broad level of understanding surrounding information systems. • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application and / or infrastructure related problems. • In-depth working knowledge of Cisco networking products including Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series switches, and routers. • Understanding of IP management, DNS, DHCP, network subnet management. Infoblox experience a plus. • In-depth working knowledge of IP protocols, QOS, wireless network standards (802.11x), OSI model, and VPN technologies. • Cisco Nexus hands on experience would be considered a plus. The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00
