Network Engineer at Staffing Technologies

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect/Engineer with expertise in Fortinet security solutions and Extreme Networks technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex, high-availability network infrastructures to ensure scalability, security, and optimal performance. This is a contract position, primarily remote, with occasional travel to the office in Atlanta, GA as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Architecture Design

  Design and implement enterprise-level network solutions using

  
  

  Fortinet and Extreme Networks technologies, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Fortinet Solutions
• Deploy, configure, and manage Fortinet products such as FortiGate firewallsFortiSwitchFortiAnalyzer, and FortiAuthenticator
• Implement advanced security policies, firewall rules, VPNs, and threat prevention mechanisms.
• Extreme Networks Solutions
• Design and implement networking solutions using Extreme Networks switches, routers, and access points
• Manage and optimize ExtremeCloud IQ and Extreme Management Center (XMC) for network automation and orchestration.
• Network Security
• Ensure the highest levels of network security by integrating Fortinet and Extreme Networks security policies.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and implement effective threat mitigation practices.
• Troubleshooting and Optimization
• Provide high-level support for network performance issues, including root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Monitor network performance, ensuring effective capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with cross-functional IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with servers, storage, and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with internal and industry security standards.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and processes.
• Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education

  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  
  

• Certifications (nice to have but not required):
• Fortinet NSE 4 (minimum), NSE 7 or NSE 8 (preferred).
• Extreme Networks certifications (e.g., Extreme Certified Specialist or Extreme Certified Expert).
• Experience
• At least 5 years of experience in network design and architecture
• Proven expertise in Fortinet and Extreme Networks solutions.
• Experience deploying and managing multi-site, enterprise-level network environments.
