Job Details
We are seeking an IT Network Engineer for our shared-services Information Technology (IT) department in the Atlanta, GA office 30328 (on-site).
IT Network Engineer Primary Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, install and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks to maximize performance and to minimize downtime.
- Provide hands-on daily support for network operations by diagnosing and troubleshooting network outages, performance issues, and document root causes and solutions.
- Perform network updates, patches, and configuration changes to network equipment.
- Manage wireless networks and conduct on-site wireless surveys as needed to recommend improvements by adding equipment and/or moving physical devices within a location to improve performance.
- Plan, design, deploy and document SD-WAN architecture in line with industry best practices.
- Implement the Edge SD-WAN device for all locations.
- Strong experience with SD-WAN routing protocols OSPF, iBGP, & EBGP.
- Improve the overall SD-WAN infrastructure.
- Authentication methodologies, including 2FA, RADIUS, LDAP, & AD.
- Communicate and collaborate with IT members including security and infrastructure teams.
- Project management for enhancements, new implementations, upgrades, and migrations, with technical direction, user support, and documentation.
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
- Create reports identifying network performance trends, bottlenecks, and operational performance across all locations in the company.
- Create documentation for the existing network, cabling layouts, and changes to the network.
- Send notifications as needed related to networking issues or outages.
IT Network Engineer Experience
- Palo Alto Firewall experience, including Panorama.
- Minimum of five years of network administration experience preferred with computer networking (SD-WAN, TCP/IP, VLAN’s), Cisco IOS, and/or datacenter applications such as Microsoft AD, LDAP, and cloud environments.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a multi-site manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
- Multiple networking certifications preferred.
IT Network Engineer Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with the following: On-Premises SD-WAN, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, Radius, Wireless, VLANs, WAN optimization
- Firewall configurations/policies/troubleshooting for Palo Alto environment with strong working knowledge of: 3DES, SSL, VPN, IPSEC.
- LAN switches in a Cisco environment, layer 2, 3, and VLAN’s/Segmentation. Cisco Meraki preferred.
- WAN Technologies such as MPLS, SD-WAN, VOIP, including deployment and configuration.
- Passionate about wired and wireless networking and being part of a collaborative team environment with locations, team members, and users across North America.…
- Can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of network security concepts and technologies, such as firewalls, VPN, and IPS/IDS
- Knowledge of network performance monitoring tools.
- Professional conduct at all times, especially with verbal and written communications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities as well as identify and resolve issues in a timely manner in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Familiarity with IT-related best practices, processes, and procedures.
- Strong personal time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement projects on-schedule and within budget.
- Self-starter, solution-oriented, hands-on with attention to detail, clarity, and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
IT Network Engineer Education, Licenses & Certifications
- Minimum of a two-year college degree, e.g. Associate’s or Technical degree required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Network Engineering, Network Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
