We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team and work closely with the Maryland Judiciary to ensure stable, secure, and scalable network operations.
Job Description:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and troubleshooting of network systems. The role includes managing network infrastructure to support business growth, disaster recovery, security protocols, and network performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, analyze, and document network infrastructure and protocols.
- Ensure security compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Lead or assist in major network projects supporting upgrades and new features.
- Perform capacity planning, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to current network systems.
- Develop network designs and manage implementation processes.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolve network issues.
- Collaborate with other team members on end-user support, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Create and present weekly reports on project progress and status.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate degree in IT or a related field.
- Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or Security certification.
- At least 10 years of IT networking experience in the continental U.S.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
- Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE).
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center, and Cloud networking.
- Proficiency in network security, zero-trust architectures, and high-availability systems.
- Experience with network security applications, identity management, and PKI systems.
- Knowledge of enterprise VoIP, SDN, and SDWAN technologies.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid: 2 days remote and 3 days onsite in Annapolis, MD.
- On-site presence may be required with a 4-hour notice.
- Flexibility to work extended hours if needed for deadlines or operational support.
