Network and Cybersecurity Advisor
Hybrid: 90% remote, must be available to attend in-person design review meetings on-site or at required company locations on an as-needed basis.
Pay: $75-$100 Hourly rate. DOE
Job Summary:
Our client, a large utilities company, is seeking contractor support for their Network and Cybersecurity design project. They are seeking a subject matter expert to develop network and cybersecurity design requirements and criteria based on proven technologies and industry best practices. The Network and Cybersecurity contractor must work closely with instrumentation and controls engineers, electrical engineers, field technicians and programmers to ensure needs, use, and operation practices are well understood.
Overall advisor scope of work:
- Provide technical Network and Cybersecurity advice for the Instrumentation and Electrical teams.
- Develop and submit project execution plan specifications for the projects for review and approval. The specifications shall detail all activities required to configure, deploy, optimize, and maintain the secured control network.
- Provide support to create specifications for Control System Network and Cybersecurity Design Criteria for review and approval.
- Attend project reviews (as required) and review technical submittals developed by other subcontractors on an as needed basis.
- Interact with the project design contractors to help steer the final, approved design.
- Facilitate and/or conduct hands-on trainings for engineers and field technicians for any new technologies and/or solutions deployed as part of this effort.
Job Duties:
- Provide technical support in developing the system architecture drawing. The applicable best practices, design recommendations and technology improvements from Basic Process Control System (BPCS) / Electrical Network original equipment manufacturer (OEM) shall be considered.
- Review and comment to network and cybersecurity related detailed design deliverables submitted by project contractors.
- Assist in designing the BPCS system / Electrical Network and servers' integration with third-party systems including PI Historian, Intelligent Electronic Devices (Allen Bradley IntelliCenter, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories -SEL), continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS), F&G System and packaged equipment PLCs.
- Propose BPCS/Electrical network equipment (Server, switches, etc.) selection and determine the application software requirements for each project. Selections must be submitted for review and approval.
- Review and revise the client's specifications for the Control System Panel, HMI Screens, and Program Design Criteria with any approved updates from this effort.
- Revise and submit for review and approval reference Network Architecture drawings for each project.
- Support the integration of the existing networks and the new networks.
- Develop risk assessment procedure for plant network and systems, perform Detailed Risk Assessment for the on-going projects and develop a report for review and approval.
Job Requirements:
- Must have minimum 8 years' experience in design, configure, deploy, optimize, and maintain Networks and Cybersecurity systems.
- Must be available to attend in-person design review meetings on-site or at required company locations in an as-needed basis.
- Shall be familiar with Rockwell PlantPAx or similar and ThinManager similar solutions.
- Shall be familiar with Rockwell Integrated Architecture Builder (IAB) software. For each Project, the preliminary product selection and configuration to be created in IAB.
