Position Description
As a Low Voltage Technicinan II, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities during specific timeframes:
- First 30 days, you will learn:
- How the Low Voltage tean installs and maintains low voltage wiring systems throughout the Applied Medical campus
- team equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Applied Medical's mission, values, and vertically integrated business model, including an introduction to our SOPs and company policies
- How to read and understand technicial drawings
- Work independently on small projects as well as in a group setting
- Within 90 days, you will learn:
- How to assist in cable installation, termination, and dressing
- How to use basic power tools and test equipment
- How to work in a highly collaborative team environment and finish projects quickly while adhering to Applied Medical’s standards
- After 90 days to one year, you will:
- Work independently on small projects as well as in a group setting
- Ongoing learning:
- Pulling, terminating, and testing data for low voltage cables
- Installing support structures, such as racks, trays, slings, and j-hook
- Working from elevated positions on aerial lifts
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Required 3-5 years commercial/industrial experience pulling, terminating, splicing, testing and troubleshooting fiber and CAT6 cable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Team player with good communication skills
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Crawl, climb, kneel, squat or bend.
- Lift approximately 50-80 pounds.
- Work in tight, confined spaces and at extreme heights.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions, including cold, heat, and rain.
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Ability to install and basic bend conduit.
- Electrical experience in similar field
