Marathon TS has an opening for a Network Architect with a Full Scope Polygraph. The Network Architect position is an advanced IT network professional who is responsible for architectural design and planning of complex interactions of IT systems. Today's design must include strong security considerations, support and planning for an ever-evolving server and endpoint landscape. To successfully support and plan for a future state, the architect must be knowledgeable of past, present, and upcoming network technologies, standards, and best practices to properly plan and integrate solutions.
This is an on-site position located in Chantilly, Va.
Responsibilities
- Provide network engineering, deployment, O&M, and procurement support to multiple government customers.
- This position entails regular coordination/interaction with telco providers, vendors, and other contractors. It requires working knowledge of various technologies, from data circuit architectures such as SONET/DWDM, TDM, and Ethernet, to networking equipment such as Cisco routers/switches and commercial and government encryption hardware/software.
- Participate in the helpdesk support for multiple nationwide customer networks with issues related to connectivity, client/server, VoIP, and VTC. Serve as alternate COMSEC custodian for multiple user and organizational accounts.
- Responsibilities will include providing network architecture specifications as well as evaluating and recommending new technologies.
Requirements
- Full Scope Polygraph Required
- Experience building and deploying heterogeneous networks (Windows/Linux), integrating COTS solutions and connecting to networks using current technologies and a minimum of 8 years of experience in the following areas:*
- Configuring LAN communications (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs)
- Configuring WAN communications (SONET, BGP, MPLS, etc)
- Configuration of network security using encryption technology
- Installation and maintenance of the preceding technologies at multiple distributed locations.
- Knowledge of system auditing and monitoring with tools such as Solarwinds, Splunk, or equivalent
