About the Job
Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Network Administrator who is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting all internal and external network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, wireless, servers, storage systems, voice & data circuits, and VPN remote access.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain documentation related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records
- Monitor performance and availability of networks, servers, and other infrastructure equipment
- Administrator for all network and server equipment
- Monitor network and server health and performance
- Respond to intermediate level tickets
- Respond to trouble tickets timely
- Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation
- Work in a cooperative manner with team, superiors, and other departments
- Provide support for internal customers through phone, email, or in person
- Configure, install, and support the following equipment:
- Routers and switches
- Server operating systems
- Communication lines including voice and data T1’s, analog lines, and internet service
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Manage assigned new projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives
- Assist in the implementation of complex projects
Qualifications:
- 2-year degree required; 4-year degree preferred, in technical field
- 2 years of related experience

- Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and deliverables in projects.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Experience with network protocols, managed in an enterprise environment.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of IP Telephony, running in a Cisco Call Manager system
- Basic knowledge with Cisco network equipment, Vmware, Windows Servers, LAN/WAN configuration, and wireless networks
- Basic level experience with network security, firewalls, and authentication protocols
- May be asked to be available off-hours and weekends
