Epsilon is partnered with the IRS to assist them with their increased technical support needs as they undergo a nationwide hiring surge. Epsilon’s team members work in tandem with the local IRS technical personnel to provide deskside and network support services to new and current IRS employees.
An average day:
As Network Administrator II, you will install, maintain, and oversee the operation of moderately complex software and network systems. An average day:
As Network Administrator II, you will install, maintain, and oversee the operation of moderately complex software and network systems. This role also provides on-site incident management support, delivering resolution for local and wide-area network incidents and problems. In this position you will:
- Provide technical support to optimize network performance and resolve issues efficiently.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of software and hardware to ensure compatibility and performance.
- Develop, review, and maintain robust security protocols and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to maintain system integrity.
- Implement and coordinate network policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Manage the installation of network software and monitors network performance for optimal functionality.
- Manage existing operational equipment and install and configure new switches and routers, IP desk phones, Voice over IP support on network devices, and ensure that devices are configured correctly.
- Set up replacement switches and routers at network location.
- Test and confirm operation of installed switches and routers.
- Maintain local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) components like CISCO Switches, routers, patch panel support, and cable replacements.
- Update asset records, prepare equipment for shipment, and deliver the replaced equipment to the Asset Management organization for disposition.
- Perform loading of above-baseline software and perform quality control steps to ensure the systems have the required configuration and software.
- Will as needed troubleshoot and resolve network support trouble tickets, provide timely updates of work performed in the ticketing system. Also provide corrections of any discrepancies identified, and root cause analysis to prevent future discrepancies.
- Provide informal customer instruction and training as needed.
- As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or have lawful permanent residence in the United States. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
- Must have no less than 6 years’ experience as a Network Administrator, Engineer or similar position.
- Must have hands-on experience with: Hubs, Routers and Switches, Firewalls, TCP/IP protocols, VoIP, DNS, CISCO Hardware & Products, configurations, troubleshooting, Testing and O&M of the Network.
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with LAN/WAN networks and CISCO environments
- Hands-on experience with common networking software and hardware
- Excellent customer service skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication
- Excellent time management skills
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust
- Local/regional travel may be required.

- Maintain and update servers by updating internal hardware.
- Move, rack and stack servers, switches, or routers.
