SUMMARY

Responsible for monitoring, triage, and incident management of 3rd party vendor services including carrier circuits, to include support for incoming calls, troubleshooting, coordination with vendors, incident tracking, and tracking of maintenance activity. Supports incoming trouble reports via phone, open trouble tickets, and respond to questions about availability and operational status of services.

DUTIES

Provide first level troubleshooting and remediation as prescribed in the policies and procedures related to Operations and availability of hardware infrastructure, Operations and availability of applications Software deployments.
Responsible for monitoring and incident management to include, Detection, Impact assessment, Isolation, remediation, and resolution of all Network related issues.
Conduct DNS health checks for production VIPs Creating and maintaining network diagrams

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

BS Degree in STEM-related field.
CCNA and/or IAT Level I/II Certification (Sec+ and Network+ Preferred).
Must hold an active Secret security level clearance or higher.

Background Needed and Years of Experience

4 Year Experience and BS Degree (Preferred).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Technical Skills

Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks.
Practical hands-on experience with trouble ticket systems, network monitoring tools, and familiarity with incident management processes.
Working understanding of IP networking, switching, IP routing, fault isolation and network operations.

Preferred Technical Skills

Strong understanding of DISA, RCC, and the DOD network structure.

Non-Technical Skills

Self-starter with the ability to solve problems, and anticipating problems before they happen.
Organized and maintains well versed time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
Willingness to take initiative and ability to follow through on projects.

Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where focus and attention to detail is required.

Working Conditions

Working Conditions

Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible.
Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
General office environment.
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
The working environment is generally favorable.
Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Strength Demands

Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles.
Some occasional walking or standing may be required.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
