Job Summary:
Candidate will be responsible for maintaining Helpdesk and Network support for a complex virtualized system architecture in a next generation training platform for a future Department of Defense (DoD) training environment. This is an in-office position with the ability for remote work as required and approved.
Essential Job Functions:
The Network Administrator must be able to perform configuration changes to Cisco Firewalls, Routers, and switches connecting to a virtualized architecture. The Candidate also must be familiar with IP Address subnetting. The Candidate should be able to demonstrate these skillsets. Must be able to verify and maintain network interoperability to include hardware and software through a campus wide network. Must be familiar with planning, testing, and implementing new network security technologies and network security configurations that will support requirements from the customer.
The Candidate will have to assist in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis in the event of a patch, component, device, or system failure. Must be able to coordinate productively and diplomatically with vendors, team members, developers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Will be required to create documentation and diagrams that reflect updates for networks already in place and networks still in the design phase.
Must be a self-starter and able to prioritize multiple tasks on demand in a fast paced and constantly changing environment. In turn, must be flexible based on the requirements from the customer.
Candidate must be able to travel to support remote sites.
Required Skillset:
- IP Address Subnetting
- Experience in designing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring network architectures
- A comprehensive understanding of switching technologies and routing protocols and the ability to manually configure them
- Perform network configurations using Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI)
- Implementation of Cyber security policies and STIGs in conformance with the Authority to Operate (ATO) and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Creating network diagrams and document configuration changes
- Experience with IP Address Management (IPAM) systems such as SolarWinds, etc.
- Operation of network bandwidth testers and protocol analyzers/sniffers
- Familiarity with VMWare vCenter & vSphere
- Windows 2019 Active Directory adding and removing users
- Work independently on-site without requiring constant supervision.
- Travel Required
- Capable of lifting and moving of equipment
Required Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as IT, computer science, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university. (6 years’ experience in lieu of degree)
- IAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP or other equivalent certification required within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other Network Related Certifications
- Windows Server 2019 Active Directory
- Strong Linux and Windows support skills
- VMWare applications and networking
- Knowledge of modeling and simulations systems used by US military.
- Strong testing experience
- Strong Linux support skills
Other Requirements: Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
