Location: Hybrid; on site once a week in Dublin, CA
Overview:
The Network Security Engineer III is responsible for strategizing, designing, and implementing security improvements to safeguard the company's information and assets. This role is integral to leading efforts to enhance the organization's network security posture through the evaluation and execution of best practices. The position involves leading initiatives from concept through delivery and ensures compliance and security integrity across systems. As a subject matter expert (SME) in network security, you will be accountable for driving the technical direction, operational support, and the continuous improvement of security systems, including solutions such as SASE, SSE, and Zero Trust.
This role demands deep expertise in Netskope, Zscaler, Versa ZTNA, and other similar solutions. You will play a key role in supporting business objectives through robust and secure network architectures while working closely with other IT and Information Security teams.
Key Responsibilities:
•Network Security Design & Implementation: Research, evaluate, and implement network security designs, standards, and solutions that follow industry best practices to protect enterprise assets.
•Security Strategy & Roadmap: Define and lead security initiatives, including strategic planning, technology selection, and roadmap development for network security improvements.
•Zero Trust & SASE Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of Zero Trust and SASE solutions to secure network communications and resources across cloud and on-prem environments.
•Vendor Management & Product Due Diligence: Evaluate and manage vendor relationships, performing due diligence, and ensuring that products meet company security standards.
•Collaboration Across IT & Business Teams: Serve as the liaison between the Information Security, IT, and business units, ensuring alignment on security goals and contributing to the design and delivery of enterprise security solutions.
•Incident Support & Troubleshooting: Act as a senior-level support resource, handling escalated issues, providing third-level support, and resolving production incidents.
•Technology Leadership & Training: Provide technical guidance to other teams, lead training sessions, and drive the adoption of best security practices across the organization.
•Compliance & Integrity: Define and enforce procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies, maintaining a high standard of security integrity.
Qualifications & Special Skills Required:
MUST HAVE:
•Experience with SASE/SSE Solutions: Proven experience with Netskope, Zscaler, or Versa ZTNA solutions (or other comparable products such as Forcepoint, Fortinet).
•Zero Trust Experience: Practical knowledge in deploying Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and related security principles.
•Network Security Expertise: Strong background in network security technologies and principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
•Clear Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to effectively collaborate across teams and report to stakeholders.
•Netskope Certifications: Netskope Certified Cloud Security Integrator (NCCSI) certification.
Desired:
•Email Security Experience: Familiarity with email security gateways like Proofpoint.
•Advanced Certifications: Senior-level technical certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, MCSA, or similar.
•Scripting Skills: Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and JavaScript for automation and troubleshooting.
•Leadership & Decision Making: Proven leadership skills with the ability to make strategic decisions, mentor, and guide other team members.
•Netskope Certified Cloud Security Architect: Preferred certification for advanced technical expertise in Netskope solutions.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
•Ability to build strong relationships across different organizational teams.
•Experience with product lifecycle management, from design through to production deployment.
•Ability to manage complex technical environments while maintaining a focus on security.
•Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address production challenges and security vulnerabilities.
