As an intern with our Publicity team, you'll get the exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of supporting our global public relations efforts. Every day, you'll be working hand in hand with our talented team to create captivating press releases, handle social media accounts, organize interviews, and keep an eye on media coverage. You will also have the incredible opportunity to participate in industry events, screenings and festivals.
Publicity Intern Responsibilities
- Breaks/Reviews/Reactions: Formatting and organizing press breaks and reviews for all of our titles. Research/sweep title-specific news coverage and online reactions, and format into all related docs (e.g. Reaction Memo, Press Breaks, Reviews) During festivals, breaks/reviews/reaction memo schedules pending festival screening schedules
- Assisting publicity team with administrative docs, including status reports, RSVP documents, screening requests, critic's grids, calendars, agendas and press request grids.
- Maintaining talent schedules for press days and upcoming events.
- Screening reports: Draft screening reports for specific titles and awards screenings.
- Creating and editing email blasts and social materials utilizing Photoshop and Premiere.
- Coordinating phone interviews for talent/filmmakers
- Assisting the Publicity team, will be especially helpful in handling special projects and administrative tasks.
Important Information Before Applying:
- Program Dates: The internship runs from January 13, 2025, to May (exact dates are flexible based on academic schedules)
- Our internships are paid, and offer a competitive hourly rate of $17.50. While school credit isn’t mandatory, we can provide documentation for it if needed. Note that relocation assistance is not available.
- We're excited about your journey of learning and growth! To make the most of your internship, we ask for a commitment of 2-3 full days a week, totaling around 16-24 hours. The best part? You get to craft your own schedule, ensuring it fits seamlessly with your school calendar.
- This internship is a team-oriented opportunity that requires you to be on-site at one of our NEON offices, located in either Los Angeles, California, or the Soho area of New York City.
- Interviews will be conducted from October to early December. If your skills and interests align with one of our available internship roles, a member of the NEON team will reach out to you. Due to the high volume of applications, we regret that we are unable to provide individual status updates.

To be eligible for this internship, you must be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (Spring/Fall) during your participation in the internship program.

Requirements
What we’re looking for…
- Must be an undergraduate student, rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior and enrolled on campus for the entirety of the 2024 - 2025 school year
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Google Docs and Excel
- Highly collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
- Culturally literate, engaged with a knack for research, and familiarity with social media platforms and creators
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts, solve problems, and implement solutions
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and analytical writing skills are essential
- We highly encourage candidates with prior internship or working experience in communications or public relations to apply
Apart from the above requirements, you must be proficient with Photoshop and Premiere. You should also have a working knowledge of both Google and Microsoft Office suites.
