Title: NDT Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Description:
Performs nondestructive testing to determine the existence of flaws, discontinuities, leaks, contamination, thermal anomalies or imperfections in aircraft materials, components or assemblies without impairing the integrity or function of the inspected component. Conducts test activities and records results in accordance with established testing plan and specifications. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles test equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and schematics. May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
Job Core Responsibilities:
The NDT Inspector completes work according to instructions, specifications, and procedures.
Conducts a variety of Non-Destructive Tests, including liquid penetration inspection (PT) and radiography Testing (RT)
Experience interpreting and completing the process controls required for radiographic inspection, e.g
Experience setting up and operating radiation devices, e.g.,
Experience operating digital detector array X-ray systems
Experience interpreting radiographic films and documenting the inspection results, such as developing inspection techniques as derived from processing procedures, codes, specifications, etc
Acquire and interpret digital and conventional radiographs by industry standards and internal and external specifications.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Penetrant Inspection (PT):
Experience interpreting and completing the process controls required for penetrant inspection, e.g., proper lighting, temperatures, system performance evaluations, etc
Experience processing parts through the complete penetrant inspection cycle
Experience documenting liquid penetrant inspection results
Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the liquid penetrant method
Liquid penetrant inspection in accordance with industry standard
Inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components, or assemblies for discontinuities or differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system. Use a variety of test methods, which could include Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Vibration Analysis (VA), and Visual Testing (VT), depending upon the needs of the facility.
Responsible for reviewing and writing procedures, prep work for audits, and participating in internal and external audits.
Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or equivalent experience in related field
Years’ Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience
Skills:
4+ years of NDT experience as a certified technician
X-ray tube warm-up procedures, densitometer calibration, film step wedge preparation and review, film holder and intensity screen inspection and maintenance, film storage, viewer intensity checks, film processing solution checks and maintenance, etc.
Radiographic testing (RT)
1600 Penetrant logged Hours (level II) per NAS410
Aerospace, Medical, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing background
Certification in radiation safety, such as the ASNT IRRSP Radiation Safety certification
Experience with welding, heat treating, machining, and assembly procedures
