Job Summary:
As an NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our projects by visually inspecting structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, where no two days are the same. You'll be engaged in fieldwork that may involve safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks to heights exceeding 200 feet, using fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.
- Field Expeditions: You conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods to uphold impeccable quality standards.
- Testing Assignment Coordination: You juggle testing assignments across projects, contributing to the success of each endeavor.
- Testing Gear Maintenance: You maintain and manage testing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Effective Reporting: You craft detailed reports to communicate findings effectively.
The position will require 50+ hour work weeks (during periods of peak workload), as well as off-shift and weekend work, as required. Experience in Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training, including the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or working towards
- Achievement of ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
- Additional certifications, a plus:
- ICC certification in Building Inspections and/or Structural Steel Inspection
- Level II for UT certification
- Level II for PT, MT certifications
Are You Willing and Able to:
Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provide Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Ability to climb heights over 200 feet
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
- Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
