Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Opportunity in the Beautiful Thousand Islands

The primary location of service would be Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. You will join a collaborative team of 4 board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeons, 1 PM&R physician, and 6 full-time APPs—all dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care to our community.
The Orthopaedic Surgery Outpatient Service is growing at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, NY. We are seeking specialty trained Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) to join our 1st assist and outpatient service teams. In this position, the NPs/PAs work alongside experienced physician and advanced practice providers (APPs) colleagues both surgically and medically managing a variety of orthopedic outpatients, adult and pediatric, and during and after their surgical procedures.
APPs are integral members of our department and clinical care teams that provide comprehensive care in a multitude of orthopedic subspecialties including general orthopedics, sports medicine, joint replacement, spine surgery, and foot and ankle surgery.
Responsibilities:
• Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse orthopedic adult and pediatric traumas and acute care surgical patients.
• Medically triaging and managing outpatient orthopedic acute and chronic orthopedic conditions as well as occasional inpatient consults.
• Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative teaching service and patient care team.
• Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, 1st assist and 2nd assist OR management, as well as, casting/splinting/traction and other routine orthopedic care interventions.
Requirements / Qualifications:
• Candidates must be board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year clinical experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in orthopedic surgery or surgery/medicine subspecialty will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

â— Pay: $131,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year with adjustments based on experience, plus an additional WRVU-based incentive bonus.

Pay Range: $119,131-$165,000*
*The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
