System Administrator - NCFAST Application
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Project: NCFAST and Child Welfare Applications
Role Summary
The System Administrator will be a key member of the team responsible for the build/deploy processes and environment management of the NCFAST and Child Welfare applications. This role involves hands-on execution of build scripts, troubleshooting build-related issues, and managing various test, development, and production environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with J2EE applications in WebSphere, Linux/Windows servers, web servers, and automation technologies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute build scripts for NCFAST and Child Welfare applications
- Troubleshoot build-related issues across multiple environments
- Configure web layers, Red Hat Linux/CentOS, Windows servers, IBM WebSphere (including clustering), IBM Client Web servers, and other related products
- Provide technical consultation to developers and solution engineers on branching, merging, and environment maintenance
- Utilize automation technologies like Ansible, shell scripting, Perl, and Python for OS and application management
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years administering J2EE applications in WebSphere Application Server 8/9, Apache Tomcat, and JBoss
- 5+ years working with AIX, RHEL, and Windows Servers
- 2+ years of experience with name and IP-based virtual hosts, clustering, and load-balancing technologies
- 5+ years of experience in J2EE application hosting, including VM tuning, tracing/debugging, and deployment
- 2+ years configuring container resources (JDBC, JMS, etc.) and security
- 3+ years of experience with J2EE application building/deployment tools (Ant, Maven, Ivy)
- 2+ years of experience with automation technologies (Ansible, shell scripting, Perl, Python)
Highly Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience and/or certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- 1+ years of experience with Bitbucket/Git configurations, branching, and merging
