Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our New Biologic Entity Pharmacokinetics group in the Biotherapeutics Department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will work under the supervision of an experienced scientist and help design and implement custom bioanalytical assays to support exposure, target engagement, biomarker analysis and pharmacokinetic profiling for antibody-based therapeutics. The project scope includes but is not limited to developing and performing quantitative ligand binding assays (ELISA kits, MSD, Gyrolab, etc), analyzing and interpreting data.

Duties & Responsibilities
+ With supervision, help design and execute custom quantitative ligand binding assays, e.g., ELISA, MSD, Quanterix and/or Gyros to measure antibodies, protein therapeutics and biomarkers in biological matrices
+ Troubleshoots effectively and solves scientific problems independently
+ Effectively communicates presents project results and conclusions to the NBE PK group and other stakeholders
+ Summarize project results and conclusions in internal report and/or external poster/publication
+ Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics
+ Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
Requirements
+ Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
+ Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
+ Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
+ Major or minor in related field of internship
+ Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
+ Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
+ Proficient in running ligand binding assays, e.g., ELISA kits, MSD, Quanterix and/or Gyros to measure antibodies and proteins in various matrices, analyzing and interpreting data
+ Ability to use data analysis and graphing software, perform unit conversions and proficient Excel user
+ High technical proficiency/attention to detail, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to evolving technologies
+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in an interdisciplinary environment
+ Degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, physiology, chemistry, pharmacy or related field
+ Desirable: Familiarity with drug and biologic research and development process
Compensation Data
