Naval Mechanical Engineer, Senior
Key Role:
Bring strong mechanical engineering competency for Navy clients. H elp Navy acquisition organizations to acquire or develop mission-suitable Naval vessels and systems . A pply your mechanical engineering experience to Naval vessels and systems, perform and support related research and development (R&D), integration, and test and evaluation (T&E) activities in support of acquisition programs for Navy shipbuilding and defense systems. Bring a zest for understanding how vessels and their systems are design ed , how the mechanical engineering discipline contributes to the overall realization of a system , and how to find and proactively mitigate risks in system designs . P ossess advanced mechanical engineering skills along with strong communication skills . Work cross-functionally with a technical and acquisition team consisting of engineers of other disciplines and lead technical activities in support of program office efforts . G row the skills and capabilities of junior engineers and promote a positive, inclusive culture.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. Basic Qualifications:
- 10 + years of experience with mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of mechanical design standards and practices for defense systems
- Ability to analyze mechanical designs through review of design artifacts
- Ability to perform quantitative analyses of mechanical systems
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of systems engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, acquisition professionals, and logistics and sustainment professionals to achieve program outcomes
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Navy acquisition processes
- Knowledge of mechanical design standards and practices for Naval ships and systems
- Possession of strong written and oral technical communication skills
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) C ertification
