About the Job
Our integrative health clinic has an opening to begin training soon for an industrious, experienced, and professional naturopathic medical receptionist. Our goal is to establish a self-motivated, self-affirmed team member in the art of caring for people, and a passion for naturopathic medicine.
Position: Medical Receptionist (Naturopathic Small Business).
Position Overview:
- This position is for a small business as customer service front desk support with administrative duties position.
- The office is open Monday through Friday.
- Must have reliable transportation.
The successful candidate will perform various administrative and patient service tasks including:
- Greets and checks-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Answers phone calls and schedules appointments.
- Prepares examination rooms and ensures cleanliness and organization.
- Prepares all patient labs and records for doctor’s scheduled appointments daily in the EMR.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information and collecting patient charges.
- Maintains business inventory (lab kits, office suplies) and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; unpacking and placing orders in dispensary.
- Handles administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Collecting and sorting mail.
Requirements:
- Must be proficient in standard business and office applications; i.e. Word, Quick Books, Email, EMR (Practice Fusion).
- Must have 2 years experience in a medical office reception setting.
- Must be able to wear a mask during office hours, if needed.
- The ideal candidate will be open to assisting the Naturopathic Medical Assistant, high energy, patient, friendly, compassionate, positive, punctual, proactive, and extremely detail-oriented, and like to work with the public.
- Experience with supplement sales and in a cash-based medical practice is a plus.
- Knowledge of Naturopathic Medicine and NDs (Naturopathic Doctors) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Hours:
- Part-time:
- Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-6:30, and Fridays 9:30-5:30 21-24 hours weekly.
- Training will begin in-office within the next 2 weeks
- Lunch daily: 1:00/1:15 pm-2:00/2:15 pm.

Wages:
- $17-18/ hour based on experience in a cash-based practice and with Naturopathic Medicine.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be reliable as this position is the only on site staff member for support of practitioners
- Must have reliable transportation and be punctual.
- Knowledge of Naturopathic Medicine preferred.
- 2 years medical office experience a must.
- Excellent people skills and ability to work with patients with compassion.
- Dynamic personality and positive attitude.
- Professional appearance, speech, and attire.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Higher degree coursework preferred.
- Familiarity with the basic philosophies of Natural Medicine and various modalities offered.
- Must have excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask and handle a busy work environment.
- Although we try to have a set schedule, flexibility will be necessary to help cover vacations.
