We're seeking a Freelance Product Formulation Chemist to help us expand into a new product category — deodorant. If you’re a skilled chemist with a proven track record in product development and a passion for clean, all natural beauty products, we’d love to hear from you!

Role Overview
As a Freelance Product Formulation Chemist, you will collaborate with our team to develop a high-performing, all-natural deodorant. Your role will focus on creating a formulation that meets our standards for safety, efficacy, and ingredient purity while adhering to regulatory compliance for natural products.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate an all-natural deodorant using simple, all natural, and non-toxic ingredients.
• Optimize the formula to ensure compatibility with sensitive skin while maintaining odor control (including post-workout effectiveness).
• Conduct stability and efficacy testing to refine the product.
• Source and recommend high-quality, sustainable ingredients.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for cosmetic products.
• Provide detailed documentation, including ingredient lists, formulation notes, and compliance reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field (OR multiple years of experience formulating products yourself)
• Proven experience in product formulation, particularly for natural or organic personal care products.
• Knowledge of cosmetic regulations and safety standards.
• Familiarity with natural ingredients and essential oils.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Experience with sensitive skin formulations is a strong plus.
