Title: National Senior Estimator
Location: Northeastern United States
Employment Type: Contract
Description:
The National Senior Estimator plays a key role in supporting construction practices and providing precise estimates for material and labor requirements.
This position involves preparing takeoffs, managing takeoff systems, and ensuring accuracy in estimating processes across various projects.
Responsibilities include training and supervising estimating staff, ensuring adherence to company standards, and collaborating with teams to enhance operational efficiency and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and complete quantity takeoffs for materials and labor by trade.
Develop accurate estimates for new designs and community projects.
Manage and maintain takeoff systems, databases, and procedures.
Oversee and validate changes to specifications, drawings, and other documents impacting takeoffs.
Review and ensure accuracy in takeoff data provided by estimating staff.
Provide training and guidance to estimators to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Monitor and update takeoffs to reflect changes or discrepancies in extra purchase orders.
Supervise and support regional differences for nationwide plans and procedures.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and building code documents.
Strong skills in spreadsheet creation and analysis.
Familiarity with estimating tools and methods, including takeoff software.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail, especially in reviewing construction drawings.
Comprehensive understanding of residential framing methodologies and purchasing practices.
Ability to visualize installation processes from technical drawings.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of tools such as JD Edwards, Plan Swift, Simpson Pipeline, or AutoCAD Architecture.
Previous experience with construction safety procedures and residential building methodologies.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation:
Pay Range:$70000k-100000K
