SUMMARY
TheNational Sales Manager ("Gerente de Ventas Nacionales") solicits, negotiates and books new and repeat group business through outside sales calls to maximize room revenue for the Bahia and Catamaran Resort Hotels on Mission Bay. Plans and promotes sales activities with highest professional standards of excellence required to meet the department’s annual sales targets, goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding productivity goals for group business.
- Plans and implements direct sales calls, participate in tradeshow activities, industry events and other networking opportunities in the territories assigned by the Director of Sales.
- Arranges Familiarization tours/Site inspection trips to hotel by major clients and accompany clients.
- Negotiates contract agreements with customers, including Addendums.
- Maintains a high level of exposure of hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contacts, and written communications.
- Actively cultivates new accounts and solicits in market while consistently maintaining profitable relationships with existing key accounts.
- Assist with creating a system to routinely update knowledge of competitive set and is able to identify competitor’s strengths and weaknesses in order to respond as necessary.
- Develops and implements a strategic sales plan of action in target market segments in conjunction with Director of Sales.
- Maintains excellent interpersonal relationship skills with a professional approach to both internal and external customers.
- Supports the Director of Sales and sales team in a professional manner and seeks out new projects and assignments.
- Participates in safety program and wellness program and is involved in keeping working area and property safe.
- Assists the Director of Sales in the development of marketing plan for hotel as well as quarterly action plans.
- Participates in Manager on Duty Program monthly as assigned by the General Manager.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or any equivalent.
- At least 2years group sales management experience in hotel sales.
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
- Large group hotel sales experience preferred.
- Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality & customer service skills a plus.
- Ability to plan, negotiate, convince, sell, close and influence professionals and hotel guests.
- Ability to perform outside sales calls and possess excellent prospecting skills.
- Proven successful sales track record.
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast- paced work environment.
- Proficient computer skills, (i.e., MS Outlook, Excel, Word, internet).
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- IVvy program experience preferred.
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Must have avalid driver's license.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
