JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a National Account Manager – Business Development to join our Sales team. You will be responsible for developing new business with primarily national and regional grocery, drug, and convenience chain retail accounts and managing manufacturing representatives (broker network) within strategic new customers. In order to be successful in this role, you will bring a relentless hunter’s mentality to uncover and secure identified strategic new customers by prospecting potential buyers and collaborating with broker reps.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Hunt for and build new business within your strategic account plan. Manage these chain accounts in a manner consistent with the company’s strategies and culture.
· Manage and follow up with accounts and complete company required forms, documentation, approvals, and planning documents. Work with the Customer Logistics Manager and cross functional teams to complete onboarding requirements such as master agreements, EDI, product assortment, forecasting, etc.
· Manage Independent Sales Rep organizations (broker network) to support hunting of new business, ensure they provide timely feedback/follow up on key customer meetings and market/competitive issues as well as to provide necessary business data (pos data, store lists, contact information) as necessary.
· Manage co-op, over and above funding, rebate and any special deals within financial framework as approved by management for assigned accounts.
· Communicate changing market conditions to Sales and Marketing team. Identify new opportunities and develop with internal team a comprehensive sales plan including the preparation and update as necessary a “Key Account Plan” for all major chain accounts. Plan and propose for approval of a controlled roll-out of new accounts (utilize new account roll out check list).
· Ensure that MAP pricing and adherence to published promotional programs are maintained at all times.
· Build and maintain solid relationships with Broker network, Chain Retail Buyers, Mid-Level and Senior Management (as possible) at assigned accounts.
· Prepare and update annual key account plans and implement company strategies for achieving sales goals.
· Complete timely and accurate forecasts and revenue projections and update appropriately.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or related field/equivalent experience required.
· 5+ years of successful new business development experience with proven track record.
· Experience calling on national and regional retail accounts at the buyer level such as (Whole Foods, Publix, Walgreens, Ahold USA, Dollar General, 7-Eleven, Total Wine & More etc.).
· Alc & Non-Alc beverage or consumer package goods experience with existing buyer relationships preferred.
· 5+ years sales management with independent (Manufacturer Representatives) sales organizations.
· Ability to quickly master detailed product knowledge.
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
· Professional fact based selling presentations required.
· Microsoft Office proficient.
Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is between $70,000 - $115,000 per year.
Confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
