NASA Desktop Support and Network Administrator - MRI Technologies

MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for aDesktop Support & Network Administrator to support our work on the NOC contract at the Neutral Buoyancy Lab at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This is a hybrid position, offering the opportunity for both remote and onsite support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, network administration, and application development.

As aDesktop Support & Network Administrator, you will:

• Provide desktop support for both onsite and remote employees, resolving technical issues promptly and effectively.
• Manage and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and security.
• Develop and maintain in-house applications to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support new technologies.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, performing upgrades and installations as needed.
• Document processes, procedures, and configurations for reference and training purposes.

Here's What You'll Need:

Requisition Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience in desktop support, network administration, and application development, (some college preferred).
• Proficiency in network technologies such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Strong understanding of Windowsenvironments.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
• Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, MySQL, etc.) for application development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requisition Preferences:

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, MCSA, CCNA) are a plus.
• Familiarity with NASA security policies, procedures, and standards is a significant plus.
• Strong understanding of information security principles, frameworks, and best practices.

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
