2 – 3 years Experience in automating processes via api's, bash/perl/python scripting in a medium to enterprise business.
• 5 + years of experience with the Nagios monitoring engine (experience with Op5 commercial package a plus)
Ability to understand and tune-up internal settings in linux (centos/redhat) environment is required.
• Strong understanding of linux processes, user management, file system management is essential.

Scope:
In this role you will be responsible for proactive monitoring as well as architecting monitoring builds, automation and new deployments in a Linux environment. This is a new and growing team supporting a state of the art & cutting edge platform
Experience
• 2 – 3 years Experience in automating processes via api's, bash/perl/python scripting in a medium to enterprise business.
• 5 + years of experience with the Nagios monitoring engine (experience with Op5 commercial package a plus)
• 5 + years of experience with Nagios extensions and the Nagios open source community
• 5 + years experience architectural design of monitoring infrastructure on Nagios monitoring solution or similar platform's such as (Netcool, or Zabbix)
• 5 + years experience designing and implementing dynamic monitoring systems for elastic virtual private clouds and bare metal.
Technical Skills
• Scripting background – bash/perl/python
• Ability to work with teams in a dynamic organizational environment
• Worked with plugins
• Sound knowledge of internal and external monitoring best practices
• Ability to understand and tune-up internal settings in linux (centos/redhat) environment is required.
• Strong understanding of linux processes, user management, file system management is essential.
• Ability to implement kernel upgrade/patch upgrade and should have sound knowledge on package management.
• Should have sound knowledge on linux security features (iptables, selinux, ACL etc).
• Sound knowledge on using traceroute, netstat, telnet, and other commands for troubleshooting.
• Strong in Shell scripting. Should be able to automate tasks via shell scripts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills. Would need to analyze and provide break-fix for re-occurring issues.
• Should have sound knowledge on networking with respect operating system.
• Good understanding of SSH, Apache, DNS, DHCP, NFS, Tomcat etc, services is essential.
• Should be aware of up-coming/new technologies.
• Hands-on Openstack is advantage.
