Musician Engagement Associate
Scope and Purpose: The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is seeking a dynamic and creative Musician Engagement Associate to join our team to support and execute outreach initiatives and digital communications including social media and website content, radio/TV messaging and assets, and email/SMS campaigns. This position will play a key role in supporting HAAM’s Member Services team, the Musician Engagement team, as well as fundraising initiatives. This role combines expertise in graphic design, social media, content creation, video production, and event engagement to support HAAM’s mission.
This full-time, non-exempt role (40 hours per week), reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager and will actively collaborate with Member Services and Development staff to advance the organization’s mission and grow its membership. Frequent evening and weekend hours are required. This is a hybrid position with required time spent at the HAAM office and out in the community. Remote work options are available, depending on job requirements.
The ideal candidate is an on-trend digital storyteller with a keen eye for design, a passion for digital engagement, and the ability to manage several concurrent deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing and Engagement
- Execute digital marketing and engagement strategies across social media and other digital platforms.
- Execute social media tactics to boost engagement and grow audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and curate original digital content that aligns with program initiatives and events.
- Contribute ideas and produce social media content with a focus on musician engagement, health literacy, and onsite event coverage.
- Design high-quality graphics, digital ads, and other collateral to support campaigns.
- Write and edit engaging copy for social media, blogs, email campaigns, website updates.
- Execute a Join HAAM campaign with a focus on expanding outreach to underserved communities.
- Seek out and leverage emerging digital outreach tools and key partnerships to drive engagement and awareness.
- Create motion graphics and animations to enhance storytelling.
- Schedule, post, and monitor content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok).
- Track analytics and prepare reports to optimize content performance.
- Attend HAAM events, fundraisers, and other music industry events to drive musician engagement and capture member stories through photography, videography, and live social media updates.
Healthcare Navigation, Literacy, and Provider Relations
- Assist Member Services staff with musician-facing outreach and engagement.
- Collaborate with program coordinators to support provider relations activities.
- Design high-quality graphics, digital ads, and other collateral to support musician-facing and provider-facing campaigns.
- Find creative and engaging ways to relay healthcare-related information for musician-members.
- Provide support and execution for musician-facing content, such as email newsletters and event communications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, as well as demonstrated experience in high quality content creation.
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) or equivalent design and production software.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Excellent photography and videography skills, including lighting and audio setup.
- Experience developing culturally responsive messaging and content that reflects HAAM values, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and outreach.
- Maintains a visible presence in the local music community or is actively engaged in the local music scene.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and receive constructive criticism.
- Passionate about visual storytelling and digital engagement.
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-2 years in a marketing, communications, or creative role with an emphasis on graphic design and social media content. Prior experience managing professional social media accounts required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience may substitute for degree).
- A portfolio of work samples showcasing high-performing social media content as well as graphic design and video assets.
- Demonstrated experience with GA4 analytics, Google ads, and Meta ad campaigns a plus.
- Experience creating and executing health communications or equivalent informational messaging in engaging and creative ways.
- Ability to interpret analytics to develop data-driven storytelling.
- Ability to work protracted or irregular hours.
- Ability to drive personal or agency vehicle for agency business and to maintain vehicle liability insurance.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Hourly rate range: $24.04 - $27.88
