Probationary period for new Classified employees is six months. Work year is 12 calendar months. The normal workweek for this position is 40 hours. Paid holiday, discretionary, and sick time are provided. Ten vacation days accrue during the first year of employment. Position Description:
Reporting to and under the direction of the Director, District Public Relations, Sports Information and Athletics Communications, the Multimedia Coordinator is responsible for creating video content that supports the District’s enrollment management goals and promotes the District’s programs and events. The Multimedia Coordinator also implements digital communications strategies to support the District’s intercollegiate athletic teams, including coordinating livestream broadcasts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Coordinates the production of district promotional videos, overseeing all aspects from concept development and scriptwriting to production scheduling and talent recruitment. Responsible for researching, negotiating, and contracting with vendors, as well as ensuring final approval aligns with the college’s brand and quality standards.
- Assists with graphic design, video capture and editing services for digital assets utilizing Photoshop, PowerPoint, After Effects, Premiere or similar software.
- Coordinates and uses the equipment, technology and software needed for production of live stream broadcasts of COC Athletics home sporting events in accordance with established procedures and processes.
- Creates content for the District’s social media accounts, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Researches and evaluates the feasibility of emerging social medial channels for potential use. be, and researches new social media channels as they come available for feasibility of usage.
- Develops content for and maintain ‘Cougars Sports Network’ YouTube channel to host the broadcast of livestream broadcasts of COC Athletics home events.
- Assists with creation of COC athletics promotional and recruitment videos that aid recruitment of future student-athletes and showcase current COC student-athletes to coaches and scouts at transfer universities.
- Assists with ongoing maintenance and development of Athletics website and e-newsletter, including, but not limited to, updating rosters, headshots, game photos, game recaps, bios, scores, results and other Athletics news.
- Assists with the research, content creation, design and production of printed and digital marketing pieces for electronic or hard copy distribution.
- Works closely with the college’s Graphic Design and Reprographics departments in the complex processes required to bring a publication – whether electronic or print – to completion.
- Participates in staff development and professional development activities in order to remain current on changes and trends in the world of general and targeted communications, journalism, photojournalism, multi-media advancements, and new and social media developments in order to maximize information dissemination efforts for the college.
- Conducts archival research projects on current and former COC student-athletes, coaches and administrators. Documents the history, records, achievements of the COC the athletics program, including the COC Athletics Hall of Fame inductees.
- Assists with game day press box/sideline operations, including media relations, statistical setup, technology operations, event photo/video coverage etc.
- Assists with photography, videography, graphic design, PA announcing and in-game statistical services on an as-needed basis.
- Serves as a representative of the sports information department at COC athletics events and activities when the Executive Director of District Public Relations and Sports Information is unavailable.

The single college within the Santa Clarita Community College District, College of the Canyons is located in Santa Clarita, the third most populous city in Los Angeles County, and serves a 367-square-mile area in the northern part of the county. The college’s two campuses are just a short drive from downtown Los Angeles.
