MTSS Teacher on Special Assignment

Under the direction of the Director of Community Schools and Partnerships, the MTSS Teacher on Special Assignment will provide administrative leadership to the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) structure team to ensure all essential components of MTSS are implemented and monitored with fidelity and lead to dramatic and quantifiable academic, social-emotional, and behavioral achievement results for students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify students in grades K-8 who are at risk of not meeting grade level reading proficiency by analyzing data from identified state and district formative and summative assessments, grades, and measure of progress.
Provide liaison service between the school and homes of students
Provide liaison service between the parent(s) of students and teachers
Provide support to teachers and parents in implementing activities that promote mutual respect and success in school
Work closely with principals, teachers, school psychologist, parents, students and others in ways designed to improve student success
Provide staff release time for parent contact
Provide small group student support/social skills
Coordinate with the Principal to develop a schedule of one-on-one or small group reading support.
Work closely with teachers to coordinate intervention program efforts that align with regular classroom instructional foci.
Monitor and maintain accurate data and records on student progress towards reading achievement goals.
Analyze Student Attendance Assessment and follow through to increase student supports.
Manage and schedule site-based Screen Teams, Student Support Team (SST) and 504s.
Provide training, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate implementation of academic and behavioral Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at all three tiers, as they are developed.
Provide technical assistance including modeling, observation and feedback, facilitation, data analysis and other supportive assistance necessary to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
Work collaboratively with the Special Education department and the Ed Services department.
Coordinate MTSS professional development activities for site and district leadership teams.
Facilitate data collection and models of data analysis to inform progress monitoring and decision making, by working closely with site based Screen Team and grade levels.
Meet regularly with the supervisor for staff development, planning next steps, collaboration with the district team and alignment of protocols and procedures across the district.

Understanding of MTSS structures and supports, differentiated by tiers
Ability to prepare, understand, and effectively explain student data, derived from a variety of sources
Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong collaboration skills
Spanish Bilingual Preferred

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with RCTA salary and benefit policy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
3 years of continuous teaching experience in grades K-8
Experience working with unduplicated students
Appropriate Teaching Credential
