GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:
• Provides assistance and support to the pre-operative, surgical, and post-operative (also known as peri-operative) staff throughout the Department of Peri-Operative Services. Able to work as a vital team member, as well as independently. Professionally interacts with all departmental customers to enhance the quality of patient care and promote departmental services. Incumbent does not perform or help in emergency medical care or first aid as a part of his/her job. JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED). MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: • One to two years of peri-operative technician experience SKILLS & ABILITIES • Proficiency in a use and maintenance of video-monitor; ability to trouble shoot technical equipment REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: • Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), preferred. • Incumbent is expected to obtain a certification on the use of the Nitro Oxide tanks within 30 days of the start date in this position.
