Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time / MRI Technologist to join our Imaging Team in the Venice, FL area. We are looking for a new team member who is -positive, energetic, able to multi-task and loves patient interaction. The MRI Technologist must hold all certifications and licenses related to their scope of practice. S/he must be able to handle a high volume, fast paced environment with a pleasant disposition. S/he must be responsible for maintaining all quality control records, ACR accreditation forms and daily logs for modality specific areas. S/he must be proficient in the use of computer software, ie: PACS, eRad, and Athena Clinicals and Communicator. S/he must obtain a detailed history on every exam performed in their specific modality for presentation to the Radiologist. S/he must be able to schedule all special procedures and biopsies daily as needed. S/he must follow all safety protocol to ensure safety of patients and equipment. All other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform all radiologic exams according to protocols and procedures with a pleasant attitude and friendly disposition
- Ability to optimize the use of the MRI room to accommodate all scheduled and walk-in patients.
- Answering patient questions before, during and after all procedures and tests
- Ensure all histories are thorough and all previous films and reports are available for the radiologist to review.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of MRI room and equipment
- Patient Verification. Identifying patients before exams begin by spelling of last name and DOB. Initialing RX on all patients after verification process is complete
- Maintaining and ordering of supplies for MR room and other areas when needed
- Obtain patient reports through ERAD PACS
- Able to send the Dynacad and pull up images for Radiologist review
- Printing of films and making of CD's for all auto print referring patients
- Monitor patient studies and information in ERAD for accuracy and consistency
- Calling referring physician offices for RX when needed
- Ability to assist other modalities with proficiency when needed
- Willingness to help when needed
- Adhere to ACR guidelines
- Ability to adjust technical factors to enhance images using FLAIR FAT SAT imaging
- Ability to enter all patient history correctly into ERAD PACS for review by radiologist
- Prioritizes STAT exams and calls referring physician with verbal result from radiologist
- Ability to schedule special procedure correctly, order for blood work, and give patient proper instructions for procedure being performed.
- Maintains laundry count, changes sharps containers as needed, and sanitizes room periodically
- Knowledge and or willingness to learn to start IV's for the purposes of performing MRI exams
- Completes super bills with detailed accuracy
- Has knowledge of safety instructions for MRI or how to find information on safety instructions
- Performs Screening of patients and other individuals before allowing them in MRI suite.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or accredited radiologic school; six months to one year related experience and/or training (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Active State of Florida Radiologic Technology, BLS, National Registration RT(R), RT(MR) or exam pass within 1 year of start of employment.
