Primary Function
Responsible for the supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging modality while providing quality testing in the department.
Responsibilities
- Schedules, directs, and assigns employee work activities in department. Monitors and evaluates staff performance and monitors and maintains accreditation standards.
- Maintains equipment in department and coordinates reports (i.e. Physicists) if applicable.
- Communicates with radiologists, physicians, and hospital staff any necessary information as it relates to patient examinations.
- Performs the duties of a technologist in the modality, which can include preparation of IV, performing venipunctures, administration of oral contrast, and assisting with biopsies.
- Provides MR Safety to self, patient, and staff.
- Maintains current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars and in-services.
- Order and maintain supplies required in department.
- Act as student preceptor.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
An associate degree or higher from an institution accredited by an agency the ARRT recognizes. A minimum of three year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required. CPR Certification required. ARRT certification in MRI is also required.
