Motor Equipment Operator II (Hwy/San) - Town of Brookline

The Department of Public Works Highway and Sanitation Department is seeking candidates for Heavy Motor Equipment Operator II. Performs a range of labor activities, operates sanitation vehicles, front-end loaders, street sweepers, packers and other equipment; transport personnel and materials to and from job sites; conduct safety inspections of vehicles to ensure they are clean and operating properly including sanitation trucks. Heavy equipment operation and manual work relating to the activities of the Highway and Sanitation Division. Operate truck used to pick up dumpsters at schools and town buildings.

Qualifications:

High school diploma; one or two years of experience performing labor work and driving heavy equipment and sanitation trucks; experience working on construction projects, roadway projects or utility projects and performing snow and ice removal; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class B and MA Hoisting Engineer’s License required.

Starting salary $28.29 per hour per hour plus generous benefits and excellent working conditions. Positions are filled on an on-going basis. Preference given to applications received before December 30, 2023.
