About the Job
Accepting applications for a Motor Control Technician. The motor control technician will work in the field, and our shop will troubleshoot, install, upgrade, assemble, test, and start-up motor control systems. These systems usually operate pumping equipment. A sewage lift station comprises pumps, piping, valves, control system, access covers, and other accessories. The type of equipment includes basic relay controls, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, dialers, and SCADA system equipment. The motor control technician will work in the field sometimes alone out of a van or pick-up and sometimes with a helper in a larger crane-equipped service truck. All safety equipment and specialized tools are provided but it is expected that the technician will provide his basic tools. The Motor Control Technician, like all our employees, does not have a limited job description but is expected to do the work required to meet our customer’s needs including working overtime. All applicants should have a valid driver’s license in their state of residency and a clean driving record.
Other Duties may include:
Accurate completion of paperwork so that it is filled out in a way that the customer and we can understand.
Understand and work with 3-phase electric power
Must be familiar with the operation of motor controls and understand the basic components such as starters, relays, heaters, etc.
Must be able to read wiring diagrams and schematics
Must be familiar with the operation of both single and three-phase motor controls
Must understand relay logic
Must understand analog signals
Should have experience with Programmable Logic Controllers
Should have experience with Variable Frequency Drives
Good reading skills to understand equipment manuals.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with customers and coworkers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Experience:
- Motor Controls: 2 years (Required)
