Job Title: Mortgage Underwriter
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting first and second mortgages while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. You will play a vital role in assessing risks associated with mortgage applications and making informed lending decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and underwrite mortgage loan files in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Assess credit, collateral, income, and assets to determine loan eligibility and repayment capacity.
- Monitor the mortgage pipeline to identify areas for improvement and expedite the loan process.
- Collaborate with management and staff to implement process enhancements and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with colleagues, partners, and clients.
- Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of mortgage underwriting experience, including expertise in assessing risks and reviewing financial documents.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan origination systems.
- Reliable internet connection and smartphone for remote work.

- This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, with discretionary incentive compensation based on performance.
