Position Summary: Mortgage Loan Officer
As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in originating long-term mortgage loans, including lot, construction, and home equity loans. Your primary responsibility will be to engage potential clients through initial pre-qualification interviews, expertly guiding them through the loan application process and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
You will effectively communicate our credit extension policies, aligning them with both Company and secondary investor guidelines, to build trust and confidence with clients. Meeting scheduling and documentation requirements while exceeding production expectations set by the Credit Union will be key to your success.
Your commitment to providing exceptional service will shine as you interact promptly and professionally with customers, prospective clients, builders, developers, and realtors. You'll not only assist clients in navigating their financing options but also actively cross-sell our range of services, enhancing their overall experience with the Credit Union.
Collaboration with credit union personnel will be essential, as you share your insights and expertise to further elevate our team's success.

Compensation and Position Classification for Mortgage Loan Officer:
Pay Rate: Hourly, Non-Exempt - $21/hour, paid biweekly, plus monthly incentives!
Monthly Incentive: Varies on production results, and incentives are not capped.
Scheduled Hours for Mortgage Loan Officer: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM M-F and occasional weekends, after-hours events, and frequent travel in the local area.

Summary of Education, Experience, and Qualifications for Mortgage Loan Officer
Education:
- A two-year college degree or
- Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or
- Completion of specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Experience: One to three years of similar related experience. Real estate background is preferred, but not required.
Other Qualifications:
- Good understanding of the foundation of determining credit worthiness.
- Understanding of real estate law, regulations, and the secondary market.
- Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals.
- Ability to type 40 WPM+
- Data entry 6500 KPH
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Possess a strong sales orientation, driving people to action
- Demonstrate excellent ability to communicate both verbal and written.
- Demonstrates ability to successfully manage multiple activities and projects with competing priorities.
- Possess proficient level proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrates having detail-oriented, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess welcoming and inviting disposition, and strong emotional intelligence.
- Professional, genuine, and self-starter attitude
- Cooperative and willing to assist others.
Plus if applicant is bilingual (fluent proficiency Spanish and English)
