POSITION SUMMARY

A Monitor Tech observes patients' heartbeats and electrocardiograms (EKG) in intensive care units or ICU, Telemetry, or Level I or II Trauma units.

What you will do:

• Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm analysis

• Notifies RN of cardiac rhythm variances that indicate pacemaker malfunction.

• Examine heartbeat patterns, noting heartbeat irregularities in patient files, ensuring that heart monitors are functioning correctly, and reporting to the medical staff in charge of the patients
