Solaris Diagnostics is a fast growing diagnostic laboratory located in the heart of Central Kentucky. Solaris is currently in search of an experienced full time Molecular Laboratory Scientist. This position will work closely with the Molecular Lab Department and requires extensive knowledge of PCR procedures, specialized molecular diagnostic laboratory tests as well as medical terminology in order to perform specialized medical laboratory diagnostic testing
Core Functions Include:
Must demonstrate capability and experience with nucleic acid extractions from a variety of sample types.
Perform complex molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with established protocols.
Responsible for the day-to-day Provide resolution of technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the laboratory Director.
Produce and maintain applicable data recording as required by following established guidelines, review data for accuracy and completeness, ensure data is properly documented and entered to file.
Work closely with other lab staff to ensure research, development and laboratory schedules are maintained, cross-train and perform various laboratory tasks as requested by laboratory management.
Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning/sanitization, and calibrations on laboratory equipment, following established internal guidelines and operator’s manual instructions for each piece of equipment.
Ensure all equipment is in working order, provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to meet or exceed laboratory timelines.
Assist in the development and validation of new or improved assays.
Complies with state and professional continuing education requirements.
Comply with all HIPPA guidelines.
Interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the Laboratory, and the public.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to deliver information and results in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of laboratory training and/or experience in molecular diagnostics testing with high-volume and high throughput testing laboratory.
Or Master's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution with at least 1 years of laboratory training and/or experience in high complexity testing/Molecular diagnostics testing.
