Job Title: Senior Research Scientist - Molecular Biology
Work location: Lab based role at South San Francisco, CA
Duration: Long term contract
Qualifications:
Education: B.S/B.A/M.S/PHD in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology
Required Experience and Skills:
• B.S/B.S with minimum 5+ years’; Masters with 3+ years'; PHD with 1-2 years' of relevant work experience in industry or academia
• Knowledge in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
• Experience with RNA/DNA QC platforms such as the Fragment analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer or Tapestation.
• Experience with RT-qPCR methods and platforms.
Responsibilities:
This is a molecular biology position in the Molecular Profiling group, performing gene expression profiling using targeted and NGS technologies to support basic research, preclinical and development activities, and translational biomarker work.
This high throughput lab requires an organized, highly motivated individual who is capable of multitasking projects in a collaborative environment.
Job includes, but is not limited to:
• RNA/DNA isolation from various tissues/cells from human, non-human primate, and rodents.
• Targeted gene expression profiling using NanoString or other RT-qPCR systems.
• Library prep and QC of samples for use with NGS platforms.
• NGS sequencing Illumina MiSeq and Novaseq platforms.
• Presenting relevant data and results.

Salary
up to 90 /hour
