About the Job
1.0 PURPOSE
To be a key member of Molding who helps us meet our goals for on-time delivery of quality products to our customers.
To implement the company’s Quality Policy and ensure that the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and other applicable industry standards are maintained.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES/AUTHORITY
- Set-up and adjust injection molding machines and secondary equipment as related to the molding process.
- Look for continuous process improvements.
- Meet IQMS Purchase Order requirements and documentation for Quality and timeliness.
- Maintenance of equipment on floor as directed.
3.0 DUTIES
- Install molds in machines according to work order specifications.
- Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results.
- Perform mold changes in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes.
- Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times.
- Participate in OSHA compliance activities.
- Set up robots and End of Arm tooling to remove parts and runners.
- Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes.
- Address unacceptable reject levels.
- Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner
- Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds, and tooling.
- Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts.
- Responsible for the continuous operation of production equipment.
- Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives.
- Be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 25lbs, reading, nimbleness of hands for typing and writing.
- PPE must be worn when required such as back brace and steel toe shoes
4.0 EDUCATION
- High school graduate or equivalent plus training in molding operations.
5.0 EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of responsible activity in injection molding
- Demonstrated ability in supervisory position.
- Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting of injection molding machines.
- Demonstrated ability to “get the job done”.
