Job Summary:
The Mold Technician will be responsible for setting up the operation of injection molding presses for production, sampling, and qualification process runs in a class 8 clean room environment. The Mold Technician will also operate the various equipment to run production parts, perform PM on schedule for equipment and molds, and quality inspect product to assure production start-up parts are molded to print.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the set-up and operation of the robotic sprue pickers
- Troubleshooting of equipment in the department to keep the operation running.
- Ensure consistent quality components are produced that meet customer expectations.
- Ensure proper equipment operation and preventative maintenance schedules are performed.
- Provide guidance and training to Mold operators
- Track and monitor key performance indicators and take corrective action when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Experienced knowledge of mold building and mold repairs
- Processing capabilities using the press controls
- Experience with precision measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, comparator, vision system
- Good mechanical abilities related to machinery and molds
- Compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all documented procedures in the Tegra Medical Quality Management System.
- Attend Company training for Hazardous Waste Removal
- High school/trade school diploma and at least 3-5 years of molding experience (working with medical grade polymers is preferred).
- Experience with insert molding in regulated industries such as Medical Devices, including ISO requirements.
- Should possess outstanding technical/ problem-solving skills, manage projects, and understand multi-tool programs
- Should be flexible, possess strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have strong decision–making capabilities and the capacity to handle confidential information.
- Good manual dexterity and excellent math skills.
- Must be highly autonomous; show much independence.
