The IPL team is looking to fill the role of Molding Supervisor to support their Lee's Summit, Missouri manufacturing facility.
The Lee’s Summit facility is one of the primary manufacturing sites for producing customized thin-wall injection molded containers, lids, overcaps and custom packaging solutions for branded and private label food and consumer product companies all over the world. The Molding Supervisor is responsible to manage and oversee production activities in the Molding Department with a focus on safety, quality, productivity and showing support for continuous improvement and sustainment.

What you will bring to the role:
- Supervises and supports all aspects of Safety, Quality and Productivity for the Molding department.
- Supervises and supports Molding department and support department employees.
- Supports Human Resources team in supporting the needs and objectives of individual employees.
- Ensure all SQF and SOP's are followed in the Molding Department.
- Responsible for coaching, education and necessary discipline of staff along with related documentation.
- Assist in hiring process, including orientation and training of new employees.
- Ensure operators make quality products as efficiently as possible, adhering to the job instructions and established quality procedures.
- Supervise daily work of all staff, assisting in problem solving.
- Take immediate steps to remove obstacles and eliminate unnecessary downtime in order to achieve production goals.
- Work with maintenance and Engineering to troubleshoot machines and resolve production and/or quality issues.
- Main driver of safety improvements in designated departments. Be an active member of the Safety Committee. Monitor operators to ensure all safety procedures are being followed.
- Schedule people and machines based on production schedule.
- Perform all other tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
Essential experience and skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing and 2 years of related experience in a leadership role.
- Experience working with HR to effectively manage employees in the areas of training, 1:1's, hiring, terminations, and performance improvement.
- ERP experience, knowledge in IFS a plus.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products (Work, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong leadership characteristics.
- Able to multi-task and react in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work under pressure and be consistent in following procedures while still being flexible.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
