We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team in the role of Permanent Molding Manager. This role is integral to our manufacturing operations and involves managing all aspects of the molding department, including equipment, staff, and process optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring 100% Poke-Yoke effectiveness in the Molding Department, training of tooling technicians, and maintaining standards and documentation. This position requires a highly technical and analytical individual with strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the molding department, ensuring all processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
2. Review and maintain PM records and condition of all molding equipment.
3. Coordinate mold repairs and manage mold tooling, including design review, quoting, vendor selection, ordering, and tracking build all new molding equipment.
4. Implement and maintain automation cells in the molding area.
5. Track and maintain spare parts inventory for injection mold tools and molded component suppliers.
6. Develop and implement best practices for tool builds, conduct supplier audits, and manage mold repairs.
7. Conduct root cause analysis for any issues arising in the molding machines and robots.
8. Serve as a technical resource for molding process issues, utilizing knowledge of IATF-16949 and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) Core Tools.
9. Collaborate with various departments to ensure product quality and efficiency.
10. Develop and deliver training programs for tooling technicians.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in CAD, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
4. Strong understanding of PM records, mold tooling, design review, quoting, vendor selection, and ordering.
5. Proven experience with 100% Poke-Yoke effectiveness in a Molding Department.
6. Familiarity with automation cells, molding area management, and spare parts inventory tracking.
7. Experience with injection mold tools and molded component suppliers.
8. Knowledge of best practices, tool builds, supplier audits, mold repairs, and root cause analysis.
9. Experience with molding machines and robots.
10. Knowledge of IATF-16949 and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) Core Tools.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
12. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
13. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
