About the Job
Axient is seeking a Systems Engineer to work with Digital Engineering (DE), Modeling Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and physics-based modeling to support the Hypersonic Portfolio of Investments and Support Capabilities for Next Generation Hypersonic Weapons work coming to Eglin AFB, FL.
What you will do...:- Support the implementation of DE and MBSE solutions across supported program offices.
- Utilize Digital Engineering (DE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and techniques to design and develop solutions to meet program office requirements for MBSE support.
- Act in a supporting/analysis role to project level engineering teams and DoD weapon systems’ program offices to support cross-team communications and analysis.
Qualified candidates will have directly related experience or education background in DE and MBSE technologies and should have or be able to develop an understanding of the specific procedures and processes of Air Force Test Center (AFTC), DoDI 5000.02, and/or other USAF regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Understanding of and experience with industry standard modeling languages (UML, SysML) and frameworks (Unified Architecture Framework, Unified Profile for DODAF/MODAF).
- Exposer to industry standard MBSE tools, to include Cameo Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Papyrus, and/or Enterprise Architect.
- Exposure to building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using modeling methodologies to perform system design analysis and conduct technical assessments that inform key decisions.
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to required qualifications):
- Master’s Degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10 or more years of engineering experience.
- Experience working with US government and/or DoD agencies.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging system performance models to inform programmatic decisions.
- Background in the development and use of physics-based models, specifically computational fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, and propulsion system models.
- Background in uncertainty analysis, data integration, and generation and use of reduced order models.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET level security clearance.
- Technical and/or project leadership experience.
- Ability to work in a self-directed work environment.
- Ability to work in a distributed team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite tools.
Other: Must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Eglin AFB, FL Area.
