The Mobile Charging Account Executive will be responsible for developing new and existing sales opportunities for the Xos Hub: A mobile charging station and energy storage system for Electric Vehicle (EV) fleets.
This is a relatively new product category in a booming industry, so there is both room and need for creative thinking and problem-solving to reach new customers who might benefit from a non-permanent charger. If you like working on new products, building sales playbooks, going after leads, and pitching world-improving solutions, then this position could be a great fit for you.
In January, Xos announced the third iteration of the Xos Hub, and we've received a positive response to the new design. The new Hub is smaller, lighter, more powerful, and priced more competitively than the previous generation. It has several use cases, from stopgap charging for fleets waiting on permanent charging infrastructure to remote charging at work sites and event spaces to backup power during emergencies. We are in the fortunate position of having prospects come to us with ways that our product can help them.
The Mobile Charging Account Executive will play an important role in continuing to grow demand for the Xos Hub. This person will source new leads through strategic high-volume outreach, while also nurturing existing sales prospects– meaning this role requires the ability to not only grow the top of the sales funnel but also usher the right opportunities through it.
The right person in this role should be very comfortable with virtual and in-person customer interactions, taking an "ask questions first, sell later" approach to ensure that we're solving the right problems for the right customers. This role will also serve as a mouthpiece for customers, communicating product feedback and desired features to Xos Engineering and Leadership teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Build on the Mobile Charging team's existing strategies to target key customer segments for mobile EV charging.
- Find and research prospects through social media, membership organizations, trade publications, and other channels that we may not have thought of yet.
- Conduct a high volume of daily and weekly outbound calls and emails to targeted accounts. Note: Volume is important, but working smarter to get quality leads is more valuable than generating a long list of flimsy contacts. If you have good strategies for reaching the right people, we want to hear your ideas; you'll likely be free to run with them.
- Schedule and lead virtual meetings and discovery conversations, displaying excellent sales etiquette at all times.
- Qualify (or disqualify) prospects based on goals, budget, timelines, and site constraints.
- Take detailed notes within our CRM.
- Uncover customer objections and other roadblocks, and find creative ways to advance and win deals.
- Participate in field sales and marketing events, product demonstrations, and customer deployments (estimated 25% travel).
Qualifications
- 3 years of professional working experience in a similar role.
- A bachelor's degree would be great, but industry experience is more relevant
- Minimum 1 year of inside/outside sales experience with a technical product or service; preference for experience in the EV charging industry, but not required
- When it comes to prospects/customers, the ability and willingness to listen more than talk
- The ability to work independently, while also knowing when to ask for help to save time or avoid doing work that someone else has already done
- The ability to establish trust, build rapport, and maintain an honest dialogue with co-workers, industry partners, and customers
- Experience with Google Suite, HubSpot, and/or NetSuite
- Experience in any of the following areas would be a big plus: Funding and incentives; site assessments and permitting; product certifications; government procurement paths such as RFPs and purchasing cooperatives – If you have experience with any of these, please be sure to highlight them in your application.
