Job Summary:
The Production Operator – Specialty Coatings Mixer is responsible for the setup and operation of equipment that blends, mixes, packages, and transports liquid or dry chemicals used in customer products. This position ensures that the highest quality product is produced at the lowest possible cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements, all in compliance with **** policies and procedures. The role reports to the first shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Essential Functions:

Setup & Operation:
- Set up, start, and operate machinery, checking controls for adherence to operating, safety procedures, and ISO standards.
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications and insert into machinery, ensuring correct ingredients are delivered and pre-blended materials are inserted correctly.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues as they arise.

Material Handling:
- Operate machinery to mix, discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
- Visually or physically examine materials to ensure conformance with established standards.

Sampling & Adjustments:
- Take samples of materials to the lab for evaluation, making batch adjustments as needed.

Documentation & Data Management:
- Complete and maintain required system inputs and transactions, ensuring data integrity.
- Document work completed, including logs, data reports, and procedures, into the computer system (SAP).

Maintenance:
- Perform all required machine cleaning.
- Follow safety and work rules and regulations; maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Training & Compliance:
- Participate in training, retraining, and continuous improvement processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in mixing/blending, pharmaceuticals, industrial food, colorants, or additives is strongly preferred.
- 1 year of Forklift Experience required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve while maintaining attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency is required.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required (e.g., close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus).
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise level ranges from normal office noise to loud.
