Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Mission Coordinator for the Navy Integrated Training Program (NITE). The LVC Operations Mission Coordinator, Pacific works onsite Tactical Training Group-Pacific (TTGP) supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center- Corona (NSWC-Corona) in providing Navy LVC training throughout PACFLT Areas of Responsibility (AORs). The candidate will assist with the planning, design, and execution of Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events for ships pierside, and LVC training events for ships at sea. In addition, the Mission Coordinator also supports on-site and distributed training events at TTGP- Detachment Yokosuka, Japan (TTGPDY), Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific-Pacific (EWTGP), Afloat Training Group (ATG) Battle Labs (San Diego, Middle Pacific, Pacific Northwest), and Navy training ranges such as SoCal Tactical Training Range (SCTTR), as well as the other Western training ranges. The Ops Mission Coordinator will have interaction with Military, Government and Contractor Leadership. The candidate will serve as NSWC-Corona’s NCTE FST/LVC technical and operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of LVC/FST training events. The Mission Coordinator will report to the Fleet Synthetic Training Mission Coordinator Lead.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Analyzes and provides recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises. Coordinates with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives. Analyzes the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to main the capabilities of a force. Compares, analyzes and evaluates the relative merits of program designs and alternatives. Applies emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development. Assesses the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine. Prepares reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.
- Communicate with leadership on any technical or operational issues and new requirements.
- Work with Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) local and remote operators and engineers, TTGP training teams, and teams at the Western ranges to coordinate and plan systems and personnel support for events. Adjust daily working hours occasionally to match times zones around the world where events are occurring. Occasional travel is required in support of event planning conferences.
- Lead event operations for compliance within NCTE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Recommend changes to SOPs as needed and help to develop new SOPs as fleet training requirements expand.
- Use Confluence and JIRA tools on the NCTE website to share event schedules and documents. Identify, document, report, and track issues, while keeping appropriate NCTE personnel, NSWC- Corona, TTGP leadership, and other stakeholders informed of status.
- Provide Expert level of support for multiple NSWC Corona sites supporting FST-A events. NITE representative to NADTC PAC and coordination with air trainer sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR
- 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field OR
- 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Communication skills are required.
- BFTT experience
- Aegis experience
- 5+ years military experience
- Requires some weekend work
- Possess an active secret clearance and Ability to upgrade to US Top Secret clearance if required.
Preferred Requirements
- Construct of Operational and Tactical Levels of Warfare events to include live, virtual, and constructive
- Experience in Navy Fleet Synthetic Training event or programs , or Tactical Training Range operations and management.
- Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems and operations
- Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) simulator or other HLA/DIS modeling tools
- Shipboard combat and training systems or Aviation combat and training systems
- Ability to read and digest technical information.
- Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of desktop or personal computers with associated software (i.e. word processing, graphics, database, spreadsheets, etc.) or other computer products as required by the applicable discipline.
- Able to work late hours when required, and have flexibility to adjust working hours to accommodate the needs of the customer
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
