Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our sawmill machinery and equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that our production targets and quality standards are met through optimal machine performance.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment by interpreting blueprints and manuals.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to assess functionality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and management to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns, and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel, and production processes.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns during both work hours and non-work hours.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Millwright or in a similar role in an industrial setting, preferably in the forestry or wood products sector.
- In-depth knowledge of construction equipment and machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand complex technical documentation and blueprints.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
- Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship program or an associate degree in mechanical engineering technology is preferred.
