POSITION OVERVIEW
The Team Leader will provide manufacturing leadership to deliver a world-class operation. Team Leaders lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork.
This Team Leader role is responsible for providing direction and support to a production team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Identify, initiate, and lead safety improvement initiatives. Address safety concerns immediately
- Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals on a day to day basis—commitment to results
- Lead the DDS process in the Milling department to ensure that a plan for the day is developed that is actionable and makes full utilization of our people and our equipment
- Educate, develop and motivate the work group to achieve results, improving individual technical skills and enabling collaboration across boundaries
- Management of learning and development plans for technicians as well as system process lead
- Ensure that the production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards for quality, sanitation, and safety
- Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees. Foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in developing creative solutions to issues
- Function as a technical expert in areas of system operations and product requirements for the Milling department
- Leverage production planning process to group planned downtimes on systems to enable effective use of down times for preventive and reactive maintenance work
- Monitor and measure the sanitation of Processing operation environment. Ensure that department adheres to all GMP’s and provide feedback to technician team members when systems are in sub-standard conditions
- Develop a close working relationship across departments and with key corporate contacts. Leverage relationships to put actionable plans behind HMM ideas that maximize operations and finances
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Demonstrated inventory management, customer service, and production forecasting skills
- Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage large manufacturing teams in a 24/7 operation
- Ability to react and make sound decisions without having the total picture and can comfortably handle the risk associated with uncertainty
- Influences across organization to promote plant initiatives or needs and garners support where needed
- Technical understanding of an Flour Milling operation either through course work or on the job training. Must be knowledgeable enough to affect positive change in plant operations
- Capability to operate autonomously and do the right thing all the time. Must have ability to maintain the highest levels of business conduct and integrity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Milling Science
- 4+ years of related experience
